Norman (AKA Fatboy Slim) is one of my favourite artists to work with. He doesn’t just embrace ‘moments’ like these but he encourages creativity. He is someone who is constantly touring and has an ‘always on’ mindset when it comes to engaging with his fans. For this reason I have so many ‘moments’ I could have shared but here’s two for you…
With Norman gearing up for his largest UK tour ever, we wanted to engage with fans in a unique way, the thinking caps went on and DELIVERAVE was born.
I reached out to a contact who was doing PR for Deliveroo, and we pitched a collaboration. The plan was for Norman to conclude his UK tour with an extraordinary performance in the home of one fortunate fan, with Deliveroo supplying the food for the event.
To participate, Deliveroo app users could enter a ballot when placing an order, which also provided a link to a Fatboy Slim Discography playlist on streaming platforms, enriching the experience with Norman's hits. Besides the main prize, ten runners-up were selected to receive tickets to a tour date of their choosing, delivered in a specially designed Fatboy Slim pizza box. The campaign saw a massive influx of entries, and two weeks later, we excitedly announced the winner.

LOVES JAPAN
In late 2023, Norman was thrilled to return to Japan for three shows after a long hiatus. However, he faced a scheduling conflict; his beloved Brighton & Hove Albion FC, for whom he is an ambassador, had matches in the Premier League and UEFA Europa League during his visit. Eager not to miss the games and considering the challenge of finding a venue to watch, we saw an opportunity for a unique campaign.
Given that Brighton's star player, Mitoma, is a Japanese legend and considering Japan's cultural emphasis on helping others, we launched a ‘FATBOY SLIM BRITON NEEDS YOU’ style campaign. We set up a website asking Japanese fans—both of Fatboy Slim and Mitoma—to suggest venues either already showing the matches or that could potentially host viewing parties. To make it enticing, fans could win a chance to watch the game with Norman, turning them into his match-day companions.
Simultaneously, to keep engagement high and increase streams, we released an EP titled 'Fatboy Slim Loves Japan', featuring his most popular tracks in Japan, timed with the campaign's launch. Our agency in Japan supported this with a press release and outreach to local radio stations.
This entire experience was not just about finding a viewing spot; it was a storytelling journey. We captured content of Norman's quest to find the perfect venue, turning it into a compelling narrative for fans to follow on socials. (hit the play button now)
